Book Reviews of Thirsty

Book Review: Hilariously wicked vampire story
Summary: 5 Stars

With biting humor, this first-time author offers readers a cynical look at the onset of vampirism coupled with adolescent angst. Chris struggles with a crush, his annoying brother, and his parents' failing marriage. But all of that seems important -- not when the fate of the universe appears to be at stake. A very Buffy-The-Vampire-Esque horror comedy for the slightly darker, simply smarter side of the YA crowd.

Book Review: An ongoing book about vampires!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This book was too long and had too much dragging in it. The book was about a bunch of vampires invading a city, how original. I felt this book lack character, althought its strong point was in content. I just wasn't excited about 256 pages of vampires. The boy named Chet was so very deserving of a oscar. I just think this book is not up to standards for the late 90's moderate teenage reading material.

Book Review: Entertaining read falls flat at the end
Summary: 4 Stars

I loved the narrative of this book. It was witty, entertaining, and, as far as characterization goes (minus the vampire aspect!), extremely realistic. It was a thoroughly entertaining read, right up until the last 10 or so pages, where the story fell apart-- almost as if Anderson threw it together at the last minute. The ending was rather hokey, but I think this novel will appeal to most.
