Book Reviews of Thirteen HoursBook Review: Hot book! Summary: 5 Stars
I loved this book. The plot wasn't very well thought out, but it makes up for it with the awesome sexy scenes. I highly recommend this book to any lesbian!
Book Review: Hot! Summary: 4 Stars
Now, isn't it funny how perception changes expectation?
Meghan O'Brien's latest novel is billed as an "erotic romance", which I didn't see until I opened the envelope it was shipped in. Within a millisecond, my expectations of plot went down to zero.
Imagine my surprise when there was one, and well-plotted characters to boot?!?
It's the story of two women, one a workaholic, one introduced as a stripper, who meet when the stripper is sent to the workaholic's workplace as a birthday present. They dislike each other, yadda, yadda, yadda... they get stuck in an elevator together and sex ensues ;) But there is more to their story, the characters are believable and likeable. And there's sex. Lots of hot sex. O'Brien is really good at that, so why shouldn't she exploit her talent.
And this time I can't complain about too much sex as it says so on the cover and can be pleasantly surprised by the bonus plot and characters with depth.
It's of the same caliber as her previous novels, just moved to the correct category this time.
Book Review: I LOVE THIS FREAKING BOOK! Summary: 5 Stars
This book was too good. It almost made me rethink writing for a little bit. It's pretty much about a lonely, bitchy, workaholic and very closeted woman named Dana who gets a lapdance from a really hot stripper with a phenomenal pair of breasts as a birthday present from an AWESOME friend named Scott. Then an angry, surprised (and very turned on) Dana gives her an earful, commanding her to put her clothes back on and get out of her office. When the stripper does so, Dana insists on escorting her out of the building. So they get into the elevator and it gets stuck. Dana and Laurel the stripper are stuck in the small room for 13 hours. During this time, they learn a lot about one another. Dana stops being too afraid to live and Laurel basically charms her way into Dana's "power dyke suit". After they get out of the elevator, they pursue a serious relationship. And it works out for them happily ever after. I loved this book because it revealed the changes that they both endured in order to be ready to be in a relationship with another person. THis was a very funny book with quite a few gems. Dana's comment "Come like a ninja" about masturbating in her parent's house with her room being in between her brother's and her parents' was one of them. Throughout this book, I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, much like Dana and Laurel. But that's the best part. No fallout! I would advise anyone to get this book. And if I ever meet a Scott who gives me as awesome a gift as Dana's, he'd be my best friend forever.
Book Review: I got what I paid for! Summary: 4 Stars
This book is very sexually explicit.
If that bothers you than steer clear of buying it.
I loved it! It was great to read a 'no holds barred'..raunchy and very sexy honest book.
I thought the author created 2 real characters with great dialogue and storyline.
There is no excuse or reason given here for the amazing sex these two women delve into - there shouldn't be.
I'm so glad Bold stroke published this one and didn't hide her in one of their collection books.
Way to go Meghan! Can't wait for your next one.
Book Review: Nice! Summary: 5 Stars
Though erotic, this book actually gets you thinking about people interaction, being judgmental, and values in relationships. The characters are genuine and you find yourself caring about them both and hoping for the relationship that develops to work out. Never judge a book by its cover is the lesson here, look deeper into a person than just what you see on the outside.
Very well done.
