Book Review: A 'nice' traditional pulp historial romance

I did enjoy this book but only as I don't normally read such books. I fancied trying a genre virtually unknown to me and as refreshing a change as this certainly was, it won't tempt me to look for others.
It's very sterotypical Cartland or old style historical Mills and Boon. The hero is bad tempered, nursing emotional wounds that make him excessively defensive/aggressive. Of course he has a superb body and oozes archetypal male sexuality. The heroine is a plain thin brutalised girl who is EXCESSIVELY naive, to say the least!
The basic idea is both are paranoid and mistrusting which leads to misconceptions and misunderstandings akimbo.
If you like dwelling on romantic ideas of forced marriage for a nervous virgin and like commanding heroes with tempers tantrums and sexual confidence and tenderness, you WILL love this and not care a jot for the thin plotting or exasperatingly repetitive narrative.
Over all, I found this a sweetly engaging, fast read, in the full-on Romantic (big R) sense.
