Book Review: No-one who cares about our future can afford to miss this book
Summary: 5 Stars

5 stars seems ungenerous to a book that is not only a tribute to a formidable character (Greg Mortenson) written in high quality journalistic style, but a cautionary tale about how those who choose to run global politics without knowing the facts or the people on the ground are guility of the grossest dereliction of duty (i.e. George W Bush and his fellow ignorami). You'll find this book inspirational, provocative and ultimately gripping and, in my view, it changes perceptions of Islam profoundly. Read it, think hard and share the core point with anyone who'll listen - education is the key to unlocking the benign human resources of the third world - just start the process with courage, goodwill and a bucketful of belief and anything is possible. A book no child in the West should be allowed to ignore......

Book Review: Inspirational
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this book on my holidays in NY. Just could not stop reading it. This is the most amazing book I have read in recent times. It brought tears to my eyes on occasions. The story twists and turns every few pages and keeps the reader engagged. Beautifully written and also fit for big screen. I intend to buy copies of the book and pass it on to people who can contribute to CAI or similar projects. I have been involved in helping poor kids of our village to go to school. This book has made me determined to do even more. Thank you Dr Greg for helping the people of our region.

Book Review: Globalisation& the Education of girls
Summary: 5 Stars

This is an amazing book - Greg has sussed out long ago that the education of girls/women is the key for cultures to help and sustain themselves. Educate a woman and she will stay and help her community and wider culture, men often leave and go further afield with the benefits of their education and it becomes important to rise through the power systems for them. And lets be honest here, it is the men who are the warring faction in our cultures. I am not anti-men but very much for womens' education as one who has had the privilege and benefit of education and raising of consciousness. Myself and my daughter went to the Gambia, came back and organised fund raising to buy the land for a school - the school is being built - the message is ' just get on with it' Greg Moretenson is only one man, we can all help.

Book Review: Moving and inspiring
Summary: 5 Stars

Not only is the narrative gripping and exciting, the central ethos of the book is very inspiring. A fascinating account of a courageous man trying to return some of the generosity he received from some of the world's poorest people and succeeding beyond measure. Highly recommended.

Book Review: Brought me to tears...
Summary: 5 Stars

I've learnt so much from this book its unbelievable....i've already got 5 people lined up asking for my copy and i've just finished!
I really admire Greg as he went into an area like Pakistan with the right mind-set and the right intentions. I loved the fact that he gave an honest opinion about what he saw without being judemental at all. I myself come from Attock which is a northern city close to Peshawar in Pakistan. Too often the media only ever depicts the negative aspects of the Muslim religion and culture. furthermore, too often people judge Islam and Muslims by the 'bad apples'. Please read this book it will enlighten you.
