This is the most inspiring book I have read this year, I could not put it down, and I shall be buying many copys for Christmas presents. I have already recommended it to lots of friends. It is increadable what Greg Mortenson has achieved in such a short time, what a wonderful way to promote peace. I did not want the book to end, it was so well written. Fantastic book which actually matches the hype for a change. It peels back layers of negative myth around the cultures in pakistan to reveal a humanitarian truth. We, ordinary people, all want peace and health for our families and respect those who strive to attain this in our mulitude of different ways. This author tries to enable poor Muslims to get schools and education for their girls and boys to better their own communities. He is ordinary, he succeeds and he is an inspiration to all of us. What an inspiring tale it is! And what memorable characters and children he has got to know!
Get this book asap, you won't be disappointed. It is uplifting, exciting, brings hope; read it.

I've just put this book down and wanted to reccommend it to everyone. If you do one thing today buy this book. The story will keep you gripped all the way through and it is easy to read.
