Book Reviews of Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace . . . One School at a TimeBook Review: A message not to be ignored. Summary: 5 StarsThis book should be required reading for those who have forgotten the meaning of serving your fellow man. It is easy to read and the reasons behind this one man's mission are easily understood. The author titles one of the chapters "The enemy is ignorance". To read this book is to acquaint yourself with the basic oneness of all of our peoples in the desire for the peace and well-being of everyone. Who knew that one man could still make a difference in this world.
Book Review: Fascinating and Inspirational!! Summary: 5 StarsThis was an amazing book! I first picked it up because stories of those who brave to climb the world's most fearsome peaks always fascinate me. But I sooned learned that while Greg Mortensen failed in his attempt to climb a mountain, he is succeeding in his attempts to move mountains. I highly recommend reading this inspirational account of his efforts.
Book Review: Three Cups of Tea: one Man's Mission to Figh Terrorism and Build Nations.... Summary: 5 StarsEveryone should read this book. It is truly amazing... one man's vision and determination to educate and respect all people. I could not put this book down.
Book Review: "My Hero" Summary: 5 StarsAs another reader said,"Greg is my hero and he will be yours too if you read this book." She was so right. This is a true story, an inspiring adventure - not to be missed!
Book Review: Dr. Frances Delahanty, Assoc. Prof., Pace University Summary: 5 StarsI couldn't put this book down. I found it totally fascinating and a wonderful testament to one person's commitment, caring, and ability to bridge differences in language, tradition, religion, nationality, -and build bonds of friendship and community wherever he went. The story of his meeting his wife was totally touching and wonderful - capping an already wonderful story of Mortensen's commitment to children and their education. I recently read of the Taliban closing some schools for girls in Afghanistan, and wondered if they were ones that Mortensen had built, and felt sad that the hope that he created might again be wiped away by the radical factions that oppose the education of women. I found hope in this book. I found inspiration as well. This was a book well worth reading, for anyone who wants to know how one man truly has created peace in the world - one village, one school, at a time. I've given this book to all my friends. My world is a brighter and better place knowing that there are people in it like Greg Mortensen.
