Book Reviews of Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace . . . One School at a Time

Book Review: Three Cups of Tea
Summary: 5 Stars

This is an outstanding example of what one person can begin while at the same time demonstrating the many ways in which various people can contribute to making things happen. It offers a real view of a whole variety of lifestyles from around the world and is written so well that the reader almost feels as if s/he is there. For those of us who see education and improving quality of life as the solution to terrorism it is an inspiration.

Book Review: Inspirational - A Must Read
Summary: 5 Stars

Three cups of tea should be required reading for every Congressperson, Senator, all cabinet members and everyone in the military from the top down. A great story told well. A bit wordy at times but a good reader will fly past that.

Tell your friends and teach your children.

Book Review: Talking points for peace
Summary: 5 Stars

Wow
Seriously, this book wrenched my point of view and fully engaged my sense of guilt for not giving more of myself for others. Ok, so I'm a flaming liberal, and was destined to like this book anyway. But what it has really given me is a framework to talk about these issues with my conservative father-in-law and other relatives who think that profiling muslims for airport searches makes sense. Seriously, I think this should be required reading for all Americans, reguardless of political stance.

Book Review: The path of Christ in a Muslim Country
Summary: 5 Stars

This is an incredibly powerful and touching story of the effect that inner transformation can have on the greater good. Although the protagonist, Greg Mortenson, would not chalk up his altruistic tendencies to following Jesus Christ, it is Christ who Mortenson emulates the most. Three Cups of Tea teaches us that it is through actions of peace that peace is promulgated. Thank you Mortenson for living a life in the service of others!

Book Review: This should be a "must read" for everyone
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this book on a whim and am very grateful I did. I've now purchased an additional 4 books for my nieces who are getting ready to touch the world after college graduation. This is a wonderful eye opening challenge for each of us in reaching out beyond ourselves. I laughed, cried, ached and was elated through Greg Mortenson's presistant love and hard work. I find myself highly recommending this book to family, friends, strangers...anyone who asks "have you read anything good lately". I wasn't disappointed and I don't believe you will be either.
