Book Reviews of Three Nights of SinBook Review: Absolutely Marvelous Book Summary: 5 Stars
I have been reading romance novels for years, I actually devour them. I have never written a review before, but this book was so good I had to let people know to get it. It has been a while since I have read a book so good that I just want to read it again to make sure I didn't miss anything.
Anne Mallory has written two of the best characters that I have ever read. Even the supporting characters are written well enough for you to KNOW who they are.
I laughed out loud and I cried. I refuse to tell the story because I hate it when these reviews give away the story, just know that with this book you are getting your moneys worth.
I am now going to go buy the rest of Anne Mallory's books and if they are only half as good, they will still be wonderful. Three Nights of Sin will stay on my bookshelf forever and I know I will keep rereading it until the book falls apart.
Book Review: Amazing!!! Everything I thought it would be and so much more! Summary: 5 Stars
First off the hero...Gabriel's character is amazingly well developed. He is convincingly dangerous unlike many of the pseudo sinister rakes and reprobates that authors throw our way. He is noble and honorable too which makes him all the more enticing. This is a personal preference, but I liked how he established his dominance in the relationship without having to demean or embarrass the heroine...too often dominance comes at the expense of the heroines pride or humanity and in such cases I really can't help but dislike the hero. Basically he was amazing, dark, brooding but genuinely so, not to mention beyond sexy!
The heroine was strong but most certainly not obnoxious! (thank god)! She recognized her situation and decided to do something about it. While she was desperate she didn't play the consummate martyr either. I liked that she wasn't necessarily beautiful but Mallory treated this matter so well. It didn't become a point over which she constantly bemoaned and the hero didn't dwell either, their sexual encounters also became about their incredible "spark" which did translate into meaningful physical and emotional attraction. The sex scenes in the book were so sensual and succeeded in being incredibly hot without having to be lewd or shocking. They were both soooo intense.
The mystery was also a wonderful aspect! The chase was well played out and the the mystery surrounding Gabriel was revealed slowly ... the suspense was perfection! And I suspected various characters throughout the novel but I was never certain, not predictable at all which really kept the story moving. The secondary cast was also wonderful and the picture Mallory portrayed of London (one outside of the ton!) was refreshing and, again, convincing. There was also a good degree of humor and quirkiness in the novel...i found myself chuckling out loud on occasion!
Above all I appreciated the believability and sensibility of the characters in the sense that they didn't play petty emotional manipulative games with each other. It was obvious they cared for one another and didn't let their pride get in the way (and if in some cases pride creeped in, it was understandable, sympathetic and didn't drag on to the point that one becomes unsympathetic with the characters).
I would recommend this to anyone! Buy it or get it from the library quick :)!
Book Review: An enjoyable read Summary: 4 Stars
When Marietta Winters' brother is arrested for murder, she discovers there is only one person in town willing to help her prove his innocence. Gabriel Noble's price is steep, but he is willing to work for three favors called due at his discretion. Marietta agrees and discovers that Gabriel has more reason to find the murderer than she does.
The title and the book blurb really intrigued me (I could do without the cover art), but I found the story dealt more with the events that led up to THE THREE NIGHTS OF SIN opposed to the nights themselves. Although not what I had bargained for, the book still held its own. There were a few places of description that wobbled, but nothing that was irritating.
Ms Mallory's writing style is very clean and enjoyable. Her characters are fantastic, and I loved the way they were evenly matched. I rooted for them from page one.
Her plotting is good and easy to follow except for a few 'did I miss something' moments. This was easily forgiven when a major hook, about three fourths into the story, had me turning the pages before I finished the last words. I had to see how this was going to be handled and I was on pins and needles hoping the characters would make me proud.
Overall, I think this author has a lot to offer and will improve with each book she writes.

Book Review: Bad book, bad characters, HORRIBLE cover, makes for a bad read Summary: 1 Stars
Goodness! So I picked up a copy of this book after reading all the amazing reviews, but let me just say, that I was not impressed one bit. The whole book was a complete CLICHE! We've got a heroine who thinks she's so strong, but is really so easily manipulated by the "hot" hero. Give me a break. The hero, Gabriel (was that his name?) was so laughable in terms of characterization. The author wanted him to be a big "bad" boy, but he just came off as laughable and stupid. Seriously, every five seconds, the TSTL heroine is like, oohh...I shouldn't be with him he is NOT a gentleman because he looks like a predator! So hot! What a stupid heroine and cliche, laughable hero. One-dimensional characters. Also, please, get a better cover for this book. What a typical bodice ripper. Also, the plot was alright, but it wasn't much of a romance. I'm never going to read another one of this author's books.
Not recommended.
Book Review: BookWorm Summary: 3 Stars
I am an avid historical romance reader and I ordered this book from Amazon and had it shipped to me halfway across the world based on the 4 star rating. And because the back cover was so tempting. The title alone is a seller!
Having said that however, the plot was disjointed, nothing really came together in the end, the hero and the lady didn't really develop much of a relationship in the book. I was actually skipping pages to get to the end. And the plot was SO weak. Very very disconnected. And there were no three nights of sin!!-the love scenes were quite boring as well.
Disappointing.
