Book Review: Absolutely Lovely

The cards are semi-glossy and have a nice heavy weight. The photos are outstanding and show us up-close the artist that Louis Comfort Tiffany was. It's important to remember that Tiffany's windows and display pieces were part of the craftsman design movement. Imitations today of "tiffany-style" lamps cannot hold a candle to the originals. The windows portrayed on the cards are all about 10-15 feet high and were used as real windows in homes in NYC and in Tiffany's own home on Long Island.

I give the note cards 4 stars only because although the up-close detail of the windows is beautiful, it's only beautiful if you've seen the original piece in its entirety. A photo of the entire piece is on the back of each card but is too small to convey the beauty of the piece.

Two of the pieces are from the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum in Winter Park, FL, and the rest can be viewed at the Metropolitan in NYC. I recommend seeing them in person!
