Book Review: Times tables the confusing way!

Just received this book. Not sure if I misunderstood, but I thought it would give a visual representation (picture) of each times tables fact in order to help recall of children who cannot remember by auditory rote (chanting etc). However, I found the book confusing. It contains a variety of different ways to remember different times tables. For some facts, for example 6 x 3, you have to remember a story about Big Foot together with a picture. Some of the children I want to help wouldn't remember all of that. For the 6 times tables, you only have pictures for 6x3, 6x4,6x6,and 6x8. For the others (2s, 5s, 7s and 9s) you have to remember other methods (doubling, fingers, clock, patterns). Sorry but it is far too complicated for me.
