Someone said that the cover of the book turned them off. It did just the opposite to me. I was intrigued by all the illustrations throughout the book and was impressed to find that the author is also the illustrator.
Whenever I see people in the New Age section of the bookstore, more often than not, they appear to be similar to the witch on the cover. In other words, the cover reflects that todays witch is not necessarily against the "trappings" that modern society offers. I guess you could say that she is truly ECLECTIC!

"To Ride a Silve Broomsick" - educational and just as important, entertaining. I found that, as a relative new-comer to the Craft and a Solitary as well, Silver's way of bringing Paganism into everyday life easy to apply to my lifestyle. She keeps the Craft lighthearted and reminds us that this Path is a joyous one and doesn't have to be dogmatic.It saddened me to see Coveners comparing thier more structured beliefs with the eclectic format of "To Ride a Silver Broomstick". No Path is the right one for everyone and Silver reinterates this throughout her book. Fortunately there are people out there like Silver to reinforce this.
A definate must read for everyone from beginner to Elder. For beginners and Solitaries it is a tool to base thier growth on. For Elders and Coveners, it serves as a reminder that one of the things that draws people to Paganism is the fact that one can tailor one's beliefs and one's magick in a style that makes them comfortable.

As a child I went to chatolic schools, but I still believed in magic, faeries, and witchcraft. When I was confirmed I was TOLD to forget such"foolish" things. I knew that talking would get me punished. But no one could make me forget what was in my heart. It was until my freshman year of high school that I was looking in a bookstore and stumbled upon the New Age section and found and studied this book. I BELIEVE that: You do not find Wicca, it finds you. Either by being Hereditary or by Fate. Later I found out that my Great Aunt practices also!! We now share secrets and are closer than ever!The Goddess has BLESSED me.. May She DO THE SAME FOR YOU!!
