Book Review: An excellent guide for young jazz musicians out there

What we see in the book is the replies that a young jazz musician has sent to Wynton Marsalis. Even though we do not see the original letters sent, Wynton conveys the questions he is being asked back but addresses them to a whole audience of people while still keeping the tone individual.
As an aspiring jazz musician myself, this book is great motivational tool. For example Wyton says how when he was young and "took the trip to New York City" and thought he could really play, he got laughed at and sent back to New Orleans where he came from. This is a great metaphor for how much musicians need to practise in order to make it into their profession.
All in all, this book is influential and to the point. A must-read for any aspiring musicians, not just jazz.
