Book Review: My Promotion
Summary: 5 Stars

I just got a promotion, and this book has been invaluable in helping me make it work. I keep it in my deks and refer to it just about every day. Yesterday I managed a tricky negotiation thanks to this book. And every morning I go through a worksheet to help me manage better, shape my vision or just figure out what I want and how to make everyone work more successfully as a team. My job is going great and my group is doing great. Thanks Tony Soprano on Management.

Book Review: INCREDIBLE!!
Summary: 5 Stars

It was quite obvious that my subordinates didn't respect me, after I received my promotion to manager. I was set to give up entirely until this wonderful book fell into my lap as a gift from my beautiful wife of 20 years. Not long after reading, the snotty little brat of a file clerk disappeared suddenly after a brief trip on my boat. A few months later, the executive assistant who was forever tardy and spent all day doing her nails disappeared suddenly and unexplainably during a business trip to Maine. I'm planning on using the skills I picked up from this fantastic book on Greg from Accounting, but I must first find where I put my bowling bag. It's incredible just how much respect I get now.

Book Review: There are better books
Summary: 3 Stars

This book has some old hack ideas and stereotypes. If you want to read a very interesting book about Italians and Italian Americans, read "The Golden Milestone: Over 2500 Years of Italian Contributions to Civilization."

Vanity Fair (April, 2004)

Book Review: As Seen on CNNmoney and AOL
Summary: 5 Stars

I first heard abut this book on AOL. A witty but insightful poll compares Soprano and Trump (http://money.cnn.com/pf/features/trump_soprano/) "The Don vs. The Donald." The article makes a convincing case for Tony's leadership skills and cites some of the ideas Schneider writes about so articulately in his book.

But the book is more than just a fun read. It's a prescpription for management change, and it has examples that range from America's best known companies and leaders to foreign companies, not-for-profits and leaders of smaller business and organizations.

I vote for Tony as the better business leader. But whatever your vote, you'll find this book well worth the time and money.
