Book Reviews of Too Fat to Fish

Book Review: Artie is Awesome.
Summary: 5 Stars

My husband read this book the day we got it, even though it was supposed to be a Hanukah gift. He laughed out loud and loved it.

Book Review: Artie is the best!
Summary: 5 Stars

Artie Lange is so funny and self effacing, you can't help but love him. This book is great, even if you're not a Howard Stern fan.

Book Review: Artie provides a guide of how to live like a maniac
Summary: 5 Stars

Artie Lange, Jr. is clearly mental. He is also lovable, sincere and blatantly honest in his first penned effort. His memoirs provide a Jack Kerouac-like narrative of drugs and more drugs from his early days as a stand up in NYC clubs, to his on-air Stern Show melt down. Artie opens his mental disease completely to his fans - showing the manic swings that can be triggered by nearly anything.

This book is his atonement to those he injured, and his praise for those who provided salvation, during his path from tragedy to success. And it is laced with just the right amount of ball-busting tales as only Artie could have experienced.

The book will make you laugh and cry out loud, even if you are not a Stern fan and have never heard of Artie Lange. And that is why Artie did such a great thing on these pages.

Bye for now.

Book Review: Artie revelations
Summary: 4 Stars

While I enjoyed the book, because I like the character so much, I found the book to be an A- to B+ overall...I base that on being a Sirius subscriber and regular listener to the Howard Stern Show. I am putting the context forward that if you are not a regular listener to the show, you will likely enjoy this book at even a higher appreciation level. Listening to the show daily, I found that many of the stories are redundant with regards to already have been told on the air. However, there are a hand full of unique stories as well including the details of his relationship with his father and his suicide attempt. These deeper dive stories do add value and appreciation of the comic star.
I recommend the book, but think it is important to appreciate the book under the context that there are many many repeats if you are an avid fan.

Book Review: Artie's Book
Summary: 4 Stars

As an avid Howard/Artie fan I enjoyed the book. Although most of the stories I am familiar with from listening to the show there is information about Artie and his life that I was not aware of. All in all I would recommend it to others (fans). As Artie's suffering continues (no doubt about him being "off the wagon again")I can't help but think about my own story and how I absolutely know what it's like "feeling hopeless". I also know what it's like to overcome that "state of mind" and to live a happy life, believe me success/money have nothing to do with it.
