Book Reviews of Too Fat to FishBook Review: A downward spiral and back again. Several times. Summary: 5 Stars
I'll admit. I'm not a big fan of the Howard show. It's not that I'm not interested in the content and purpose of the show, it's that I just don't have the time for it these days. But my brother told me about the Artie vs his assistant incident from last year, and I managed to dig up a video clip of it. I thought to myself, "this guy sure is messed up." Then I remembered people throughout history with problems that deep tend to deliver the best answers to much of life's issues. So I bought this book. And I sure am glad I did. It's a short read, but very potent.
Artie has been through it all, it seems. Twisted relationships, prostitutes, drug addiction, career highs and lows, literally throwing produce at his friends and strangers and working with the best and brightest in the business. He's even been bitten by Google. Read this book and you'll know what I mean.
Too Fat to Fish is not only a journey through one of the most twisted, drug-addicted minds in comedy's history, but also a sincere look at how a person, along with the help of family and friends, overcomes all that self-destruction and misplaced rage. A definite must-have for anyone who thinks they've put themselves in a bad spot from time to time. As Stern mentions in the foreword, "Artie is just like us, just ten million times worse."
Book Review: A life well lived... with a couple of mishaps along the way of course Summary: 5 Stars
Aside from knowing him from the radio, Artie presents us with his life story which gives readers a better perspective on his background. The book overall explains of Lange's up and down phases and is most of all an enjoyable read.
Book Review: ARTIE!!! Summary: 5 Stars
This book is only for people who like Artie Lange, or even just crazy stories while being apart of show business. Excellent humility and stories to relate to. Easy to read, couldnt stop reading it get it if you like Artie at all.
Book Review: Artie Lang review Summary: 4 Stars
Good book for the most part. I enjoy biographies or autobiography that cover the self destructive personalities of famous people. It was lacking in detail of his daily routines etc. but interesting none the less.
Book Review: Artie Lange Summary: 5 Stars
I have been listening to Howard Stern since 1982 when he was in Washington. I like so many people discovered Artie Lange when he became a member of the show. I truly enjoyed his book and in hindshight it was like watching a train wreck. He is an incredibly gifted entertainer. His stories were amazing and funny. If you are fan of the Stern show then this book should be a must read. If you want to read an incredibly honest view of oneself then you should pick this book up. I hope that he finds peace and will be able to give us some more entertainment because he is so gifted.
