Book Reviews of Touch the Dark (Cassandra Palmer, Book 1)Book Review: touch the dark. Summary: 4 StarsI really enjoyed this book. Is this the first book by this author? if so what a great first book. Good plot, good story, flowed great.
Book Review: Awsome new story Summary: 5 StarsThis book is great and the vampires are very leathal while still attaining some allure that makes you like them. This book moves fast and is an easy entertaining read. If you like this book you will be happy to know there is a squel comming next year called Claimed by Shadows. I know I will be looking for by this author.
Book Review: Good start Summary: 3 StarsI picked up this book because of the blurb from Kelley Armstrong on the cover. I enjoyed the first part of the book as well as the ending, but I felt the middle lacked good pacing. Like a previous reviewer I felt too much backstory bogged it down. I did love the various vampire characters, although I found the main character, Cassie, to be kind of flakey and slightly annoying.
I would recommend this book to people who are fans of the supernatural romance/action/mystery genre and who find themselves running out of things to read.
Book Review: Great paranormal romp Summary: 5 StarsI have had the privilege of being able to read two great books that managed to keep my interest lately and this was one of them. Cassandra Palmer is a young clairvoyant who was raised in the household of the vampire mob boss who had her parents killed. After a botched attempt on her life, she lands in the clutches of the American Vampire Senate. As if that isn't enough, she finds out that a rouge vampire and a circle of dark wizards are after her because she is more powerful than she ever imagined or wanted. In a world where humans are in the dark about the paranormal, Chance's dialogue, plot, and twisting of history are enchanting esp. when compared to some of the other books out right now. The book was good enough that I wasn't turned off from it when the heroine did something really stupid, and I am still looking forward to the sequel.
Book Review: Couldn't put it down! Summary: 5 StarsI absolutely loved this book! Cassie is a strong, intelligent heroine and I like the new twists Ms. Chance weaved into her story about vampire and magical lore and politics. I also liked that there are many different types of supernatural beings in this world from Seers, Vampires and Weres to the lesser known Satyrs and Mages. I do agree that there was alot of backstory but, I think that it was necessary so that the reader understood the main plot line. This book almost reminded me why I loved Laurell K Hamilton's earlier work in her Anita Blake series: the heroine is strong, the vampires are powerful and sexy and the story is so well developed that you kind of get sucked into this world. I looked up Ms. Chance's website and was excited to find that there will be a second book, 'Claimed by Shadow', coming out June 2007. I would recommend anyone who reads LKH, Kim Harrison or Charlaine Harris to go out and buy this book!
