Book Review: A Meams to an End

1926 on the eve of terrible events across Europe, Harris Stuyvesant, an FBI agent, takes a vacation and his savings to England to find a "bomber" who destroyed his brother's life.
England is teetering on the brink of a general strike to support the coal miners and only one dubious official has time to be bothered with the rough American who is an expert at undercover work. Carstairs sends him to Bennett Grey, a shell shock veteran. An empathy between Harris and Bennett leads both men to the home of a powerful Duke and a secret meeting of the leaders on all sides of the strike question.
Socialism, Communism, and Fascism converge to war against Capitalism with no clear winners, but masterful story telling for the reader. It takes an astute writer to understand that in their pure form, the first three labels are synonyms for stealing and the last is a word for achievement.
TOUCHSTONE by Laurie R. King is a mystery that makes you think.
