Book Reviews of TributeBook Review: Classic Nora Summary: 4 Stars
I've been reading Nora Roberts for at least 20 years and always enjoy her books. I really enjoyed Tribute because, like Cilla, I also enjoy bringing older homes back to life and I also enjoy graphic novels, so it was interesting reading how a story could evolve from its conception. But, I tend to also agree with many of the reviewers that some of her books have become almost boring. Maybe because I have been reading them for so long, it has become almost simple to figure out the villians much too easily. With that said, I am not sure that there is another author out there who could ever surpass the many hours of enjoyment I have had from reading Nora Roberts. She will continue to be a pre-order author for me.
Book Review: Couldn't stop reading... Summary: 5 Stars
Nora Roberts has done it again. This is one you should not start until you have time to finish it.
Book Review: Delightful! Summary: 5 Stars
Delightful is the only way I know to describe this book, and the delight is in the two main characters. In a role reversal, the hero is the laid-back, more passive character and the heroine is the driving force. This is not to imply that he's a wimp and she's a harridan but more that he's not the typical over-protective "I can do anything" man and she's not the "oh, please, save me" woman. The plot is not particularly original, but the male/female relationship saves the day. I loved it!
Book Review: Disappointed Summary: 1 Stars
I have been a Nora Roberts fan since the beginning of her career, and it really pains me to say that "Tribute" is just plain blah. I kept thinking it would get better, but it didn't. It's readable, but I really didn't care if I finished it or not. I thought the ex-husband character was much more interesting than the "hero". Cilla, the heroine, just never became real to me at all. I like to care about at least one character in a book, but the characters were just not interesting to me. I was amazed that the book rated 4 stars.
Book Review: Dissapointed Summary: 2 Stars
I am an avid Nora Roberts fan. I read everything she writes, including the J.D. Robb series, and had been anticipating the release of the novel for some time. I was however extremly dissapointed with both the story and the story line. The pace was too slow and at times and I found myself skipping ahead just to speed things up. In the end I didn't even finish it. Not one of her best, I'm still a fan, but something is definitely missing with this one.
