Book Reviews of TributeBook Review: Liked the Characters but it wasn't Nora's best!! Summary: 3 Stars
I like Nora Roberts, I did enjoy the characters though it was very predictable. Not one of her best at all, but I will still pick up a book of hers to read regardless. Less just hope the next book I cannot put the book down!
Book Review: Love Roberts, Liked the Book Summary: 4 Stars
I love Nora Roberts and have been reading her books for probably a dozen years. Although she didn't cover any new ground in this book, that's fine with me because I enjoyed the characters of Cilla and Ford. I always love the focus on family relationships in Roberts' books, and she definitely created a character with Spock!
My only dislike of the story was how hurried it was in the end - the sweet relationship between Cilla and Ford came to a screeching halt and all of a sudden there was a twist and an unexpected bad guy...and this didn't ring true to me or to the story line.
However (and this could just be me), I enjoyed the book overall - it was just the last 30 or so pages that disappointed me.
Book Review: Loved this Read! Summary: 5 Stars
This is an example of why Nora Roberts is the best Romance Writer in the world! I absolutely loved this book - The heroine was sassy and gutsy - the hero to swoon for! I'm not going to say one word about the plot since others do that way better than I can. But, if you want a read that will suck you in and have a surprise ending, don't miss this book.
Oh, and to the reviewer that said she would have loved an epilogue at the end of the book - I agree - I had wished for more too.
Book Review: Mediocre Summary: 2 Stars
A beautiful, emotionally damaged heroine and a sensitive, handsome, talented hero. That about sums it up. Stock characters in a stock book. It was a pleasant way to pass a few hours, but just plain generic.
I never understood the connection between Cilla and her grandmother who died before she was born. The bad guys were just sort of thrown into a slow paced story that was basically that of an unfolding love. The end of the book was just tacked on. Why keep a secret for all that time, and then just blurt it out when somebody asks you. If the female bad person was so crazy, why wouldn't it have been seen before then?
The book was just not really worth it. Roberts is just coasting on her reputation.
Book Review: Nora Never Dissapoints! Summary: 5 Stars
I pre-ordered this book- as I do most all of Nora's new releases. I had high hopes about this novel- and I was not let down in the least. While I appreciate the female leads in most of her novels- It's the male leads that take the cake for me. I've never read a novelist able to capture a male perspective better (being a woman herself). I love when she writes such strong perspectives from her male characters and gives them the time in the book for us to really get to know them. Go Nora- You rock.
