Book Reviews of Tuck Everlasting

Book Review: A Must Read
Summary: 5 Stars

I didn't read this book until I took Young Adult Lit in college. By that time I had children who were in the age range for which this book is recommended. I was fascinated with this book and have read it more than once. I raved about this book and had my kids read it and recommended it to every kid in the library. I think adults may appreaciate it more than children will although my daughter loved it even when she was young. It's a wonderful fantasy story but also very thought provoking. Young people can read it just for the fun story but it's one that will stick with them and they will remember it later. It makes adults think twice about each day in their life. The movie was okay but it didn't do the book justice. I totally recommend reading the book. (I kept looking for the frog in the movie.)

Book Review: A Stupid And Pointless Book
Summary: 2 Stars

I hated this book. I do read day and night and i do love most books but not this one. The begining didn't grab me the middle was so-so and the epilouge and last chapeter was boring and stupid. Did i mention pointless? i gave it 2 stars since the middle was OK and since most people liked it. if you want a disapointing book, then this is the book for you.

Book Review: A Wonderful Story for Teenagers and Adults
Summary: 5 Stars

Note: There are a couple Mormons who are angry over my negative reviews of books written in defense of the Book of Mormon, and they have been slamming my reviews.

So your "helpful" votes are appreciated. Thanks.

My review for "Tuck Everlasting" is not long, but it is to the point. I didn't want to tell everything. The person who has been giving me "not helpful" votes is probably not a reader.

I don't like telling the whole plot of novels. Long reviews are better to read after you've read the novel, itself. A short review that can capture the "hook" can still be a good review. So here it is:

On "Tuck Everlasting":

This is a great story about a fountain of youth, and the terrible consequences of drinking from it. There is a lot to think about in this beautifully written story. What if you never grew old, but everyone around you did? Would you drink from the fountain?

For being a down-home southern novel, "Tuck Everlasting" is full of deep philosophical questions. Don't let that scare you, though. It's a great story.

The novel is a short easy read, and I highly recommend it.

Your comments--positive or negative--are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Book Review: A great read
Summary: 4 Stars

I had to read this book for school and I am glad I did! I love the description and characters! The use of motifs is also a favorite for me because I feel it gives the story some good figurative language and description. I gave this novel a four out of five because it was definitely an awesome book but it sometimes dragged on and on a little. I think description is good and I hate stories that are too bland, but sometimes too much description can be tiresome. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone 11 and older. I think younger kids would get bored with the idea of eternal life because of how you have to think about it for a while. But, adults can really enjoy this book too because, even though it is kind of short, it is entertaining and delightful.
