Book Review: The best Phillip K Dick book in the world - ever!

But make no mistake - "Ubik" is the definitive book by the author - It is an excellent masterpiece which brings together every best aspect of the mans talent. It considers psychic abilities. It studies Life, Death, and Life-after-death. And it wraps all of this up in an intellectual puzzle layers deep. There are touches and recurring themes to the story which stick in the imagination for the rest of your life.

One day, I hope, someone will make a film of this book, and (unlike "Bladerunner") will stick to the original plot where practicable. The thing is, it needs a film director of imense vision, who can play with obscure ideas intellectually and visually - Someone like Terry Gilliam or David Lynch. I happen to know that Terry Gilliam is a fan of the book (after watching a documentary a few years back) - so, if you're reading this, Terry, PLEASE make the film!

In short, read this book - preferably twice at least - you will not forget the experience.
