Book Review: A 4.5-star thriller
Summary: 5 Stars
Koontz comes out with both barrels blazing in this action-packed thriller. Bartender Billy Wiles finds himself in the position of making life-and-death decisions about people he doesn't even know. And the worst part is that it has been engineered in such a way that not making a decision is in fact making a decision. Koontz uses that unique plot device to set the stage for a plot cram packed with twists. The characters are riveting and the seeming plausibility of the book makes it all the more frightening. The only reason is that the conclusion of the book is not quite up to the standards of the rest of the novel. Not rushed, not bad, just not equal to the rest of the book. That's a minor quibble, however, in what is better than 99 percent of the rest of the books out there.
