Book Review: A Good Finish to the "Velvet" Series Summary: 4 Stars
This is the final and most endearing of the story of the four Montgomery brothers. I had been looking forward to reading about Miles, he is supposed to be the strong silent type of all the brothers. I fell in love with the romance bewteen the passionate Miles and the stubborn Elizabeth. A very enjoyable read and a good finish to the series.
Book Review: A great closure to the 'Velvet' series.... Summary: 5 Stars
Elizabeth Chatworth has spent her life protecting herself from men. When she started to grow into her body, her older brother thought it was funny to torture her and bet her virginity while playing games with his friends. For years she had to put up with his abuse when he brought her home from the convent to torture for his amusement. Eventually she learned how to protect herself, with weapons and words. She never lets a man touch her without inflicting pain, nor does she leave herself vunerable to attack by walking in front of a man. Then she meets Miles Montgomery and everything she's believed about men changes.Miles is astounded when he is delievered this golden goddess stark naked in a rug. He is even more startled by her obvious hatred of him as a man. He could understand why she wouldn't like him as a Montgomery, as their families are involved in a blood feud, but that she would be repulsed by him as a man confuses Miles to no end. He soon learns that underneath her hatred lies fear and he decides that he will go to whatever lengths to conquer her of that fear. What he didn't plan on was falling for her himself. The story of Elizabeth and Miles is breathtaking. Elizabeth learns to overcome her fear with Miles' help. In Scotland she overcomes her fear of all men and is very grateful to Miles to unapologetically takes advantage of that fact. The only problem they have is their feuding families, which comes to be resolved nicely at the end. Deveraux brings back all the characters from the Velvet series for a very satisfying ending! Happy reading!
Book Review: A lovely story Summary: 4 Stars
when i browsed the first pages of this book on a store, i was immediately hooked. the description of miles and his first encounter with elizabeth was simply electrifying.
i immensely enjoyed the tenderly funny scenes in this book, especially when the other montgomery brothers showed up. it had a good and intriguing plot and a fitting end. both miles and elizabeth are strong characters. but i felt that miles is a touch too proud....but, maybe thats just me ",)
anyway this was a nice read. probably not one of ms. deveraux's best, but satisfying anyway.
