Book Reviews of Velvet AngelBook Review: Great ending to series! Summary: 4 Stars
I just finished the Velvet series and thought this was the best of the four with charming characters and a great ending. I give out few 5 star ratings, so don't be discouraged by the 4 stars. Miles is totally lovable and its easy to see why women find him so irresistable. He meets his match in Elizabeth and what a challenge she becomes for him! Elizabeth carries a lot of anger and baggage from abuse by her older brother Edmund and a disfunctional family environment. Like Judith, Bronwyn, and Alyx before her, Elizabeth is a strong female heroine with both gifts and weaknesses to her personality. What I enjoyed most about this book was how the whole saga was tied together at the end. Even bad boy, Roger Chatworth, has some redeeming qualities and the reader is glad to see how his part in the story is resolved. Please read the series in order (Velvet Promise, Highland Velvet, Velvet Song, and Velvet Angel) and you will have spent a worthwhile time learning about the amazing Montgomery family.
Book Review: Great ending to the Velvet series! Summary: 5 Stars
I really enjoyed the ending to the Velvet series. We got to read Miles' story and got to know him. He was kinda aloof in the previous 3 books and it was nice to find out he is just as sexy and interesting as his brothers! The added mystery and chivalry that Miles possesed made him a very likable character to me. Miles' story is a little different than the others, he has to try and settle the bloody fued between his family the Montgomerys and the enemy, the Chatworths. How you might ask? He finds himself hopelessly attracted to the Chatworth sister, Elizabeth...She was delivered to him rolled in a carpet, naked and looking like an angel sent from Heaven. Miles is confused on who she is as she stares at him with her deep emerald eyes and long honey blonde hair, maybe she IS an angel...until she comes at him with an axe of course... Elizabeth is being used as a pawn in a deadly game between waring families and enemies. She vows to not surrender herself or her pride. She finds herself a captive of the most notorious of the Montgomery brothers, Miles. He is reputed to use women mercilessly and throw them aside. Getting them pregnant with his children for fun. She hated the Montgomery's...she despised them! They were the cause of her family's problems! They caused her poor sister-in-law to go mad! She was a Chatworth! The fierce hatred between these two waring familes has caused the king to become angry! In a haze of murder, rape and betrayal, Miles and Elizabeth find themselves caught in the middle as their own hearts are torn. She wants him, yet she fears him and hates what he is...but can she tell her heart the same? Is her own family the cause of the problems? Can she learn to love a Montgomery? Can Miles learn not to hate? Can past brutalities fade enough to let love in? Can these two lost hearts end a raging fued that has lasted far too long before the king banishes them all? A nonstop action/adventure/romance! A wonderful ending to the series! We get to meet up with past characters from the previous books, Judith & Gavin, Stephen & Bronwyn, Raine & Alyx and the many secondary characters that I have grown to love. There are MANY surprises in this last installent that cannot be missed and all the loose ends are finally tied up neatly. A sure keeper! 1. VELVET PROMISE- Gavin & Judith's story 2. Highland Velvet- Stephen & Bronwyn's story (my favorite!) 3. Velvet Song- Raine & Alyx's story 4. Velvet Angel- Miles & Elizabeth's story Tracy Talley~@
Book Review: I LOVE the VELVET SERIES !!! Summary: 5 Stars
The book wraps up the series so well. I laughed so hard while reading this book. This series is Jude at her best. I believe this is my favorite. I love that the lady's man of the brothers falls in love with a woman that curses like a sailor. LOL The series is a must. I love seeing the sister in laws getting together to save Miles.
Page after page I just got sucked in deeper until I closed the book with a happy sigh. This book had everything you need to create a good romance: a dashing hero, a beautiful feisty heroine, someone who always seems to interfere with the hero and heroine, and, most of all...PASSION! It was written with an amazing level of intensity and feeling that my heart was pumping furiously with the palatable passion in the story. This book is sharp and fast-moving. Filled with Lovable and exciting characters. This was a very entertaining book. This book was a pleasure to read and I couldn't put it down until it was finished. Jude Deveraux has found a perfect match for the notorious Miles Montgomery with feisty Elizabeth Chatworth. They are well matched in temperament, intelligence and in their loyalty to their families. It was an interesting. There is enough conflict to make the story line interesting and not so much that your left wondering why they ever got together.
Book Review: I liked it....but there were some issues... Summary: 3 Stars
This review is for the whole series of Velvet books: While I think this series ended well with this book, I didn't like the fact that all 4 couples went through time periods of separation because of ridiculous pride and a misplaced sense of honor. All 4 women have babies by their husbands but then we never hear about them in the stories. It's like they give birth and then don't have to really be "moms". I also got a little annoyed with the constant accusations of being faithful to one another...what's the point of saying marriage vows if you think your spouse is sleeping with other people? Also irritating were all the lusty men who kept trying to seduce or rape the heroines. I did enjoy the plotline because it was historical romance and, if you like bodice-ripper love stories, this will be sure to please!
Book Review: I recommend this book to anyone!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I recommend this book along with the other books in the velvet series. These were the best 4 books i ever read. This last one is my favorite because miles is my favorite. I have read all of them over and over again. I have yet to find a book that has been better.
