Book Review: After this, you'll love snakes!

If you liked Stellaluna, you'll love Verdi. I have to admit that I was disappointed in Cannon's last book, Trupp. But with Verdi, she has returned to a top notch standing in my eyes. The colors are vibrant, the lines appealing and amusing, the story great. Verdi is a young snake full of vim, vigor, and vinegar. He'll never be old and stodgy like the rest of the snakes. Of course, after many adventures, he learns why the older snakes are more careful, and yes, darn it he does turn green, but stodgy, NEVERBook Review: Charming! Wonderful art work.

I read this story to my 7 & 8 yr. old boys. They thought it was cute, but not fast-paced enough for them. I thought it was relaxing and charming. I would recommend this book for an adult that likes a variety, or for a K-2 grader due to the slow, relaxed pace.Book Review: Extremely pleased with my book order

My son LOVES this story. We have checked it out from the library a dozen times and every time he craves more. Now he will have a copy of his own! A story of a young snake who doesn't want to grow up because the green (adult) snakes are boring. A wonderful tale of how it's the spirit inside one who gets old, not just by changing colors (or growing older!) Verdi maintains his adventurous humor while growing up without even realizing it!LOVE IT!

This book is absolutely amazing! My mom read it to me when I was younger and just recently I purchased it for the little girl I babysit. The illustrations are beautifully detailed and colorful and the story is interesting for children and humorous for adults. I found myself cracking a few laughs while reading it to little Cate. Great buy!
