Book Reviews of Violet & ClaireBook Review: Good Book Summary: 5 Stars
I've read a coupleboks by Francesca Lia Bloack and I loved this one just as I've loved her otehr books I've read. The only thing that I didn't like about this book was that I found it a little confuesing at the end, but besides that, i was great.
Book Review: Good but fairly dissapointing... Summary: 4 Stars
This book wasnt bad, it just lacked somethings Block has in her other writing. It lacks the speciatly. Some of this book [made me mad], b/c the characters just zoom in and then zoom out of the story. I like the friendship between Violet and Claire, but in the beggining it only seemed that Vilet was Claire's friend because she needed someone for her movie. The ending of the book was ok, it never tells you if Violet & Claire become famous or not, so it just leaves you hanging. But now to the good part. The friendship between them is really great, and is what made me wanna finish it. Also the scenarios, with Peter, or Poetry teacher was really interesting. If you are a Block fan, this book is for you....(but it is not her best)
Book Review: Graphic, Yet Memorable Summary: 4 Stars
Read this book when you are feeling open to unrealistic worlds. I loved this book, even though at first I shuddered through the bedroom scenes, and grimiced at some of the situations. The truth is, Francesca Lia Block lives in a true faerie world. She creates images and thoughts that never occur in real life. If you're a critical person, don't read the book. You won't enjoy it. But if you love to imagine things that could never happen, I definitely recommend it. You'll go back to this book again and again to escape the honestly of life.
Book Review: Great Book for teens Summary: 5 Stars
This is an amayzing book. It is written almost as a screen play, which makes it very appealing. This tells the story of two teen girls, Violet and Claire, and their lives. Violet is the dark one, dressed in black, dreaming of directing on the silver screen. Clair is the sensitive one, the poet, with guaze and glitter fairy wings on her back, believing she came from an ancient race of fairies. As the story goes on Violet get [pulled] into the life of a celebrity, where people hurt you, and you end up doing anything to try to escape the life you are living. Clair falls in love with her poetry teacher, only to have her heart broken. This story tells of how there friendship began, is broken, and then returns more than ever. It tells of real life, in the real world, and shattered dreams and yearning dreams. The writing is wonderful, it is flowing, almost like a form of poetry. The story seems so real, and the descriptions are lovely. I would reccomened this book to teens and Block fans. This is my favorite book by Block I have read yet. I only wish it was longer.
Book Review: Great book that everyone should read Summary: 5 Stars
I know that Francesca's books are basically for girls, but I found this book quite moving though I am a guy. And her writing style just keeps you hooked to read more. I recommend this book for everyone, because it is great.
