Book Reviews of Walk Two MoonsBook Review: A Story with in a Story Summary: 4 Stars
Walk Two Moons is three stories in one. The bottom layer, or third story, is the story of a young girl, named Sal, searching to find herself. On her path to self discovery, she learns more about other people that she may have prejudged, and learns that others have problems like hers and not everyone is perfect. The next layer, the second is about her friend Pheobe, who teaches Sal about herself in a way. The first layer is about Sal's Grandparents, who help her get started on learning about herself and others. I like this book because it taught me a lot of important lessons and made me want to keep reading.
Book Review: A Suspenseful and Adventurous Book Summary: 3 Stars
Although it has some problems, I think Walk Two Moons is a good book. I like the suspenseful plot and some of the characters, like Phoebe who has a wild imagination, and the grandparents. I found the ending unrealistic. All of the moms in the book were depressed , unrealistic stay at home housewives, which seemed ridiculous. I found the book entertaining but I was disturbed by the unrealistic things in it.
Book Review: A Tapestry of Stories Summary: 4 Stars
Walk Two Moons is a book of stories. Carfully woven into a beutiful novel, each story is a thread that makes the book stronger. You will like this book if you don't mind being a little confused. You are in for a very special treat if you pick this book up. Every page reveals more information that leads you down a path where you only realize that there is a whole other conclusion. A tale that brings together people who think they are very similar but turn out to be very diferent.
Book Review: A Touching Story Summary: 4 Stars
The life of Salamanca Tree Hiddle - also known as Sal - is suddenly turned upside-down when her mother takes a "little trip" north. On the way to visit her with her Grandparents, she tells them a story about Phoebe.. while discovering the story of her own past. I think I enjoyed this book more when I first read it at eight than when I re-read it this year as a required reading book. However, I still think of it as one of my favorite childhood books and would recommend it to others, although I enjoyed some on Creech's other books (Bloomability, The Wanderer) more.
Book Review: A Touching Story Summary: 3 Stars
The book that I reviewed is Walk Two Moons. It was a very heart felt book; I could really relate to the main character. It is about a girl whose father raises her, but she is soon faced with many changes and hard things to deal with. When her father starts to go out with another woman, she is very suspicious. I give this book 3 stars because it brings a tear to my eye. I dont give this book 5 stars because it is way to slow for me. Most of the time when I was reading, I was waiting to see what had happened next, but some of the time there was too much detail. It was still a really good piece of literature. When I first looked at the book, I thought the cover was very beautiful, and that was the main thing that provoked me to read it. This book was very good.
