Book Reviews of WatchersBook Review: A classic of Koontz's Summary: 5 Stars
I read this book years ago- but it still sticks out in my mind as one of Koontz's best. Pure mystery & suspense mixed with a little horror & the supernatural. Are the events in this book likely- no, but was it an enjoyable read? Yes!
Book Review: A different kind of suspense Summary: 5 Stars
Dean Koontz is one of my favorite authors and though there is always some struggle between good and evil, I find his "formula" to be reassuring rather than boring. In my view, this is one of his best books, because all the characters are believable and invite our compassion. Koontz also has a sense of humor that is enjoyable while giving the readers sit-on-the-edge-of their chairs suspense. The action in Watchers never stops and the ending is very satisfying.
Book Review: A dog, hope and monsters Summary: 5 Stars
This is for everyone who believes that nihilism (AKA modern art and Stephen King) is a soulkiller.
This is for anyone who has had a dog who was their guardian angel.(Windy, we're talking about you.)
This is for those of us who love humanity and know that reason, love and faith are what separates us from monsters.
And this is beautifully written, and makes us women envy Gerda Koontz for the man she married.
Book Review: A five-star dog! Summary: 5 Stars
Superintelligent animals. Just exactly why don't we throw on the nearest pair of Reeboks and run as quickly as possible from the sheer silliness of this concept? Because it's Dean Koontz, and by the power of his limitless imagination, he actually makes this not only plausible, but also fascinating, frightening and emotionally gripping.
Do yourself a favor and step outside the box. Dream a little: wish this was YOUR dog, YOUR romance, YOUR endlessly interesting life. I know you will, just like those of us who have thrilled to this classic Koontz have!
You'll read and recommend this one over and over.
Book Review: A rollercoaster ride Summary: 5 Stars
This book is such a rollercoaster ride. It takes you from intense fear to compassion to frustration...awesome.
