Book Reviews of Water Light Time

Book Review: Eye Candy
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is worth my money. Amazing to see how someone can make pictures underwater seem 3D. Buy this book and see for your self. His pictures are unreal. His timimg is amazing and his composition graceful.

Book Review: Genius
Summary: 5 Stars

I had unknowingly admired Doubilet's work in many National Geographic articles over the years. The recent Great White cover photo was fantastic although a little untimely as it had to be hidden from my girlfriend who I was going diving with for 2 weeks a month later.

I was proud of a few photos I took on that holiday but when I saw this book I almost threw my camera away. Doubilet takes underwater photography to another level altogether. This book displays Doubilet's talent and dedication to the full with a diverse portfolio taken over many years from all over the world. The light in his trademark above & below water photo's is so perfectly balanced my friends assumed it was manipulated.

Buy this book for anyone who appreciates natural beauty. My Mother and girlfriend were first on my list and just as impressed.

Book Review: It`s wonderfull
Summary: 5 Stars

I am owning a few incredible nature photography books and this one is the best and most beautifull I`ve read so far. The text is reduced for the many photographs in the books and the title is really perfect. This one differs much from his first book,Light in the Seam, which I also own. This one is much bigger and even more artistic. When I first received it for Christmas,I was as happy as I could ever be for a book. It had more than I expected. Among my favorite photographs are the stingrays of the caribbean, the waters of Tasmania and the absolutley wonderfull coral reefs. It made me see the animal world from a different view. Personally,I can almost not understand how he capture all this on his images. It is not only enjoyable to look at - it is also very inspiring with it`s images of the monsters in the deep as well as the coral reefs. It is a truly memorable book that you don`t have to be a fish freak like me to love. It can be recommended to anyone that loves nature photography or just the beauty of the book. The price is high, but believe me,it is worth it. This book makes the perfect gift and I highly recommend it for Christmas or birthday. I have still not read the book Living Planet, but I believe it is least as fantastic - if Doubilet has been inside a project, you can always expect at least one good part of them.

Book Review: Not just a book for your coffee table...
Summary: 5 Stars

I confess: I love photography and I love diving. I guess it's not the most original combination, but that's what led me to David Doubilet's work.

This book, along with 'Light in the Sea' (which unfortunately happens to be out of print) show an incredible sample of some of the most beautiful photographies, where he demonstrates his handle on this most complicated medium, such as the sea is, by generating trully breathtaking pictures.

Book Review: Poor Service
Summary: 1 Stars

I mailed this book as a birthday present to my daughter-in-law who lives in Los Angeles. I paid for a new book but the book that arrived was a very used book. I have complained to both the outfit that sent the book and to Amazon and I have had no response to my complaint. What irks me most is that I would not have known that the book was used and not in very good condition if I hadn't mentioned to my son that I had ordered a new book because it was a special occasion.
