Book Reviews of What Dreams May Come: A NovelBook Review: once read, never forgotten. Summary: 5 StarsI read this book 13 years ago and found it beautiful and moving.I tried to find it for years without luck, then I saw the advert for the movie and was thrilled.I haven't seen the film yet but if it's half as good as the book it will be worth watching.I'm definitely going to buy the book to keep and recommend it to everyone I know.
Book Review: Read it. One of my 5 favorite books. Summary: 5 StarsThis is really hard to beat. I think What Dreams May Come and Somewhere in Time will endure as great classics. See both movies, and read both books; you won't be disappointed.
Book Review: Its vision of the afterlife makes perfect sense Summary: 4 StarsAfter reading this book, I felt inspired and couldn't wait to discover heaven for myself (but I'll wait until that time comes). I could have done without the sappy love story, but felt that the writer used the characters to make more sense of the afterlife (kind of like in "The Celestine Prophecy"--the story is less important than the message). This view of the afterlife, describes the kind of heaven that I always imagined, and the meaning of life makes more sense than any religion has offered. After reading this book, and feeling so inspired and fully enjoying life, I went to see the film and nearly threw up! The film was terrible and ruined any feeling that I had after reading the book. Don't bother with the movie, read the book over again. I recommend "Reaching to Heaven" by James van Praag, who describes heaven and the meaning of life very similar to this book, even down to the actual title "The Summerland" as the first level of heaven. He's either a plagirist or the principles in the book are true.
Book Review: This was an exciting and interesting journey to the "beyond" Summary: 3 StarsI really enjoyed this book, it was fresh, innovative and open minded. The imagery was vivid, the storyline riveting and the message was clear - Live a good life NOW if you want a good AFTERLIFE. This is a good read for anyone; no matter what your spiritual preference. I could not put it down!
Book Review: Must Read! Summary: 5 StarsI found the book to be much more inspiring than the overindulgent movie (many of the key spiritual messages were lost in the special effects). This book is a MUST READ for anyone interested in New Age material.
