Summary: 3 Stars
This book will probably appeal more to those who have some sort of 'Christian' belief. As an athiest I found it somewhat patronising. I personally disagree with the assertion that both homosexuality and abortion are sins so 'love the sinner, hate the sin' - however you disguise it, is still judgement. This book unconsciously illustrated evangelical Christianity's obsession with sexual control so this book irritated me in some areas.
Contrary to the author's assertions I find 'grace' as he describes it in plenty of unchristian places. Unconditional acceptance and compassion are abundant in other religions and philosophies and for me are more obvious in Buddhism philosophy as I have experienced it in the UK.
So while the book is well written I could not accept some of its basic premises and I therefore found it disappointing - I felt excluded by the author's assumptions and the book did nothing to convice me of its message.
