Book Review: A Third Grade Teacher Weighs In
Summary: 3 Stars
As a third grade teacher, I agree that this book can be a good supplement to the general knowledge your student should possess. However, I agree that this book is very ethnocentric and glossess over all parts of a solid multicultural curriculum that is CRUCIAL to your child's success in school and life. Feel free to use the book as a home supplement, but do not take the curriculum as the be all end all of third grade. Your child is capable of more than this book allows them to express. Overall, Core Knowledge scares me and other educators that are committed to seeing a country that is not rasist. Use with caution.
