Book Reviews of What to Expect When Your Wife is Expanding: A Reassuring Month-by-Month Guide for the Father-to-Be, Whether He Wants Advice or Not

Book Review: Cute
Summary: 2 Stars

There are moments here when I found myself very amused. But all in all there are funnier books. For example, I loved "Delano" by John Orozco. That was hysterical.

Book Review: Lighten up folks, it's a PARODY
Summary: 5 Stars

To all of you disappointed at the lack of pertinent information in this book, didn't you read the description before you bought it? Didn't you see the red banner on the corner that says "A PARODY"? C'mon people, this is not an informational book, it's a joke. It's meant to be a joke. It's not supposed to make your husband care more or give him any useable knowledge about pregnancy, it's supposed to make him laugh.

I bought this for my future brother-in-law when we found out my sister was pregnant.....he loves it, and so does she! I think it's a fantastic book, for those with a sense of humor.

Book Review: A Parody, What to expect when your wife is expanding
Summary: 1 Stars

I guess the most important thing to observe before buying this book is that it's a parody. I hadn't noticed the parody label on the top right hand corner of the book. Therefore I was dissapointed when I found that I had ordered my husband a parody on pregnancy.

If that is what you are looking for, I would suggest buying the book.

Book Review: Read the Small Print!!
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought this book because I thought it would help me to understand and relate to my expanding wife. Ever since she gave birth to Chad two years ago this November, she has been getting fatter and fatter and fatter. At first I accepted the weight gain as a byproduct of her pregnancy (she put on 40 pounds, 8 of which were the baby),but it's two years later and she's now 70 pounds larger than she was BEFORE she got pregnant. Anyhow, that's why I bought this book. Unfortunately I didn't read the small print beneath the title--this book is NOT about a wife getting fatter, it's a somewhat silly, tongue and cheek, joke of a book about a pregnant wife and the changes she goes through. It's occasionally amusing nonsense, but not at all what I wanted. Be warned.

Book Review: Hope you men don't follow his advice
Summary: 1 Stars

I thought I'd order my husband a few books to get him started on some facts about pregnancy. I don't mind a few wise cracks/jokes about pregnant women, but this book was appalling. Telling you not to bother going to most of the doctor visits. Couvade Syndrome is described as a mental/sympathetic state of mind & body where the man takes on symptoms of pregnancy(nausea, fatigue, etc). I don't know what the stats are on this or how often it happens, but the author says to avoid this you should avoid feeling sypathetic to your wife. Is this guy kidding? I know the book is supposed to be funny, but are there any real facts in this book, or is it all one big joke, cause if any of the men think to take this advice, they'll end up on the curb. Pregancy is a scary & exciting thing for a man & woman. You should both have knowledge of what's goind on medically & mentally. Seems like this book is more of a joke than informational. I'm definitely not letting my husband read this one. I can't trust he'll decipher the jokes from the facts.
