Book Review: Charming, insightful and slightly deeper than the earlier, also enjoyable, novels.
Summary: 4 Stars
Timothy James Beck is adept at creating romantic stories of gay love and life in New York. They are redeemed from being trite by the plausibility of the characters, real human insights and great scene-portrayal. For me, this is the best so far. Nick is a nineteen year old hitting New York, carrying a chip and having to work through his relationships with flatmates, friends and work colleagues. This is not just a story of how Nick finds himself as a gay man but also as an adult in a sometimes scary adult world. At the end, Nick has not found happiness but he has found who he is and where he fits in his new life. A thoroughly good read.
