Book Reviews of "Where Did I Come From?"Book Review: Great Book to Introduce Sex to Kids. Summary: 4 Stars
I got this book for my son when he was 6 or 7. Although his reaction was a "whatever" kind, I am proud to know that when he and his classmates began really talking about it, he would be able to say "I know the truth" and not beleive what the other kids say. In addition, he would feel comfortable coming to me, as the person who gave him the true knowledge, and ask any additional questions, if another kid said something really off the wall. Not only is the book appropriate, but it is important in the bonding relationship of parent and child for open communication and not closed offness. Please enjoy this or another similar book with your child.
Book Review: Great book Summary: 5 Stars
I read this to my kids when they were younger.....7 and 9 I think. My son remembered it so well he asked to take it home with him after he was grown to teach his own children.
Book Review: Great book for kids who are asking question Summary: 5 Stars
My mom first read this book to me when i was 6 years old, and i am thrilled to see that it still being printed. my book was in spanish, since we lived in Colombia, and i've actually talked about it with friends from this country, which is how i found out the name of it in english.
This book, and the active role that my mom took in my sexual education opened up the channel for me to feel confortable asking any questions i had about sexuality, and any subject matter.
I think is a great book that lets kids understand in simple terms about sexuality.
I definitelly will use this book when I have children, as i am buying for a friend who wasn't sure how to explain the subject on her own to her 6 year old.
hurray to the ilustrations!!! hurray to much needed sexual education!!!
Book Review: Great illustrations, straight forward information Summary: 5 Stars
I don't have children (yet), but when they do, this book will be accessible to them at a very young age. Adults will be tickled by the adorable illustrations (although some may be shockingly more graphic than you may expect)... they are straight-forward and yet non-threatening. The text is also to-the-point, but more friendly than blunt... just enough information to satisfy young, curious minds without giving information overload. A great book to read before you even have children as it will help to mentally 'pshyche' you up to being able to more freely discuss the topics of sex and reproduction with your children when the subject comes up.
Book Review: Great way to learn about the birds and the bees Summary: 5 Stars
I read this book and its sequel, "What's Happening To Me?" over 25 years ago. My aunt bought me the book and thus, spared my parents from having to teach me about the birds and the bees. It's done tastefully and written directly for a children. Easy to read and understand. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has a child asking their parents how babies are made!!!!
