Book Reviews of Where the Wild Things AreBook Review: Give us more wild things. Summary: 5 StarsThis book is so unforgettable. Mr. Sendak's characters and scenary would make wonderful wallpaper for a child's room! I've seen puppets of various characters in the book but no wallpaper. Such a shame.
Book Review: It was a great book! Summary: 5 StarsWhere the wild things are is one of my most favorite books. I also think it is a great starter book for kids my age and younger. I like all the monsters, and Max too. I think the book teaches us to use our imagination. It also teaches us that even though we don't always listen to our mom and dad, that they still love us.
Book Review: This book is a timeless classic Summary: 4 StarsI had forgotten all about this book until I saw a commerial from a phone company that made use of the characters from it. It made me fondly remember the book and I was suprised that, since the book was at least 25 years old (I am giving my age here) it would still be so popular. Well after some Keyword searches I located the title and have ordered a copy for a Birthday present. This book is so much richer than most of the dull books kids of that age are subjected to. It fires the imagenation and teaches a moral without bring overly preachy like the Bernstain Bear books can be. I remembered spending quite a few nights afterreading that book fanasizing about my bedroom becoming a Wild Thing Place. It is wonderful to see this good still kicking around. It is a treasured gift for anyone entering Elementary School
Book Review: Entertaining literature and illustrations Summary: 4 StarsWhere the Wild ThingsAare is an appealing book to both boys and girls. This book allows for the use and creativity of both song and dance on those pages with large illustrations and no words. We often sing a song on these pages and pretend to be Max and the monsters. The premise for this book is one that hits home with most children and it allows them to explore their feelings when being disciplined. Sendak touches on the fact that parents love their children no matter what ....this book makes it o.k. to be sent to your room once in a while
Book Review: A Treasure of a Story Shared by Father and Daughter!!! Summary: 5 StarsMy husband did not have a lot of material possessions when he was a child, but the one book he really loved and remembered as an adult was Where The Wild Things Are. After we married I presented him with the miniature book and stuffed Wild Thing as a gift. He was thrilled that I remembered his fond feelings for the story. When we had a daughter of our own I made sure Where The Wild Things Are was one of the first books I bought. Our little girl is now three and it is one of her favorite stories. It warms my heart to have such a wonderful book, that my husband and daughter can treasure together
