Book Review: It's Not A Mystery If There Are No Clues
Summary: 2 Stars

I've enjoyed Ms. Hooper's books, and am tempted to go back and read a few of the earlier ones (starting with the one that introduced Noah Bishop). However, this book was rather tepid. I didn't particularly sympathize with Nell, the heroine. You'd think after running away and finding the fortitude to put herself through school and become an FBI agent that she'd have found it within herself to contact Max, our hero, at some point within the preceding twelve years. I liked Max, and thought he'd been wronged, but he knew Nell was the love of his life, more's the pity, and he hung in there until she saw it, too. She kept telling herself she couldn't tell him ... what? When her big problem with actually telling him the truth is finally explained, it was in no way sufficient to explain or justify her behavior, in my mind. And there were absolutely no clues to follow which could lead you to the murderer. None. There were a couple of false trails, but NO clues. You only find out at the end, when the heroine is (literally) slapped in the face with it. So, in the end, I don't really recommend this book. I'm sure others will enjoy it, but I thought it was very weak.

Book Review: A Paranormal Primer
Summary: 4 Stars

Is Kay Hooper really an expert on what makes a psychic and how approaching the paranormal works. There is a lot of detailed explanation in Whisper of Evil that takes away from the action of the book and keeps it from being an intense page turner. HOWEVER, the characters are interesting, the book is well written, and the suspense is intriguing; I will go on the the third book in the series.

Nell Gallagher, had a intense newly budding relationship with Max Turner when she was seventeen and already plagued by blackouts and psychic visions. Some terrible event took place that she witnessed on the night of her prom, and she ran away leaving Max to hope for her return for twelve (12) years. That's a long time for a guy as strong as Max is, but it's fiction.

Nell returns to her hometown of Silence as an undercover FBI agent who is part of the Special Crimes Unit that is made up of psychics and other paranormal "experts." Several men have been murdered; a serial killer is successfully removing upright community citizens who are exposed to have had some terrible secrets. Nell's family and the "Gallagher" curse play an integral part in the suspense and the story gets better as it goes along.

Book Review: wonderful read!
Summary: 5 Stars

I don't often give reviews on books I've read. However, I was shocked by some of the reviews I had been seeing about the "Shadows" and "Evil" trilogies. These books were Wonderful! I couldn't put them down and can't wait for more from Ms. Hooper. They are suspensful (keep you guessing at every turn), they are romantic, and if you like paranormal reads they are unique and refreshing in content. If your looking for a plain old mystery then this is not the book for you. But if you like the unbelievable, romantic, suspense that many authors are trying to move toward, this is the best you will find.

Book Review: Excellent
Summary: 5 Stars

this is the first book i have read from the author Kay Hooper, and i have to tell you it was excellent. it has to be the best book i have ever read, and trust me i've read a lot of books. well it starts out with a premonition from the main character, Nell Gallagher. she returns to the town of silence after running away more than a decade ago. she comes back while several murders have occurred. she starts having visions of the dead men. the men all had one thing in common, they were well respected men with terrible secrets that would damage their reputations if they were still alive. she is joined by her old flame, Max Tanner. they together try to uncover who the killer is with things popping everywhere. they uncover secrets and tragidies along the way. i recommend this book to everyone who loves mysteries and this book keeps you guessing all the way to the very end.
