I loved the atmosphere of this book. The characters are lovely, the world is interesting, the descriptions are rich and the combined story is good, to boot. The romance and mystery are central to the plot, and yet sit on the sidelines, to some extent, while Harper and Belimai's lives begin to encorporate one another. This was a good thing for me personally, as I'm actually not a great fan of typical romance stories and mystery stories, but this isn't simply a case of personal tastes, as I think it was quite well-done from an outsider's perspective, as well. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
The book does seem short, and the internal pacing quick, and I'm sure there are other criticisms that could be made besides, but overall I think Hale's done something good here.
