Summary: 4 Stars

This book made my rethink all my opinions about Jane Eyre and my attitudes towards the literary canon in general. It gave an independent voice to the voiceless, but showed the gradual crushing of that individual. It provided an exotic, dreamy and disturbing history that, for me, left Jane Eyre lurking in the shadows.
