Book Reviews of William Shakespeare: The Complete Works, Deluxe EditionBook Review: Very good value for money Summary: 4 StarsThis is a great book- it contains all of Shakespeare's fantastic works, and is very reasonably priced. However, the text is small and can be difficult to read, but it is good for reference. When I wanted to use one of the plays in a piece of coursework and make notes and annotate, I just photocopied the relevant pages and annotated on them. But one can't really complain at this price! I would definitely recommend.
Book Review: Never never never! as King Lear would say Summary: 1 StarsI may be biased but ... double column, tiny print, no notes, very thin introductions, textual editing a hundred years out of date ... the RSC edition paperback is only twice the price but surely offers ten times more: includes 350 pages of introductory material, fullest notes of any one volume edition, great pics (this has none), up to date scholarship and above all a single column readable size typeface. For an investment to last a lifetime you won't regret paying the difference - how much extra is it? about the price of a decent bottle of wine.
