Book Review: Winnin Ugly: Mental Warfare in Tennis -- Lessions from a Master
Summary: 5 Stars

The best tennis book I've ever read. Brad gilbert is a tennis genius and a very good writer. He has a keen sense of humor which is just in his personality - he writes the same way as he speaks (you can see him on TV a lot during the tennis tournaments). In this book he describes what is going on in player's head and what should be going on up there. He teaches how to be mentally strong during the matches. He also gives some very good practical advice on how to improve your strokes and how to play different style players. Very useful book for a tennis player. I'm going to re-read it again - every single page has wealth of valuable info.

Book Review: Great book!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great book on game management and strategy. These are two areas that are often overlooked by many players and Brad was a master at getting the most out of what he had. I highly recommend this book for tennis players looking to get more out of their own game.

Book Review: good basic winning strategies
Summary: 4 Stars

Great book for High School and College tennis players as well as anyone looking for a winning edge.

Tennis is not a style points kind of game and "Winning Ugly" tells you how to focus on winning as opposed to looking good.

Book Review: Good tips, but dated anecdotes
Summary: 3 Stars

I learned a lot from this book, but it's hard to overlook the dated stories from Brad Gilbert's playing days. If I weren't a member of Brad's generation, I am not sure I would have finished this book.

Book Review: A Great "Handbook"
Summary: 5 Stars

Gilbert gives great down-to-earth ideas for succeeding on the tennis court. Makes a good tactical reference handbook to pick up periodically.
