Book Reviews of Wise ChildBook Review: Deserves to be a childrens classic. Summary: 5 StarsI felt I had to add this review to the other previous ones as so far the reviewers have been adults who have also loved this novel. There should be no doubt, however, what a wonderful children's book this is. I came across this when I was forced to read it in 1991 at the age of 10, as it was the only one left in the school library box. Needless to say, the school never saw the book again and this has become undoubtedly my favourite book of all time which, considering how much i've read, says a great deal about the story. Welding fantasy and history together, the story is simply magical, readable, and unforgettable. I was always greatly disappointed that there was no follow up to the second book, Juniper. It stimulated my interest in the surrounding history (which went on to become my passion) as well as the narrative itself. Wise Child is fascinating and unusual. I could not recommend this book highly enough for young readers

Book Review: wonderful... Summary: 5 StarsThis book is wonderful. I can't say much more than everyone else has, because we all recognize how pure and how well written the book is. But I have to say that my favorite part about this book is the clear mental image the words let you create in your mind. Every time I read it I travel back to the identical place I was in when I last read it. The book is so skillfully written that it can take you back to this place over and over, and still seem fresh. That place it creates for you is always waiting. It's a great book.
Book Review: Wise Child Summary: 5 StarsThis is one of my all time favorite books for children or adults! Each time I read it, I am filled with peace, hope and a yearning for the simple, good life that Wise Child and Juniper share. The book, though not particularly long, is full of wonderfully well developed characters whom you come to care about. It is at once both adventurous and educational (it takes place in a 12th century Scottish village) and conveys a reminder of our inherent connection to each other, to nature and to the cosmos. Adults and children 10 years and older will love it - guaranteed!
Book Review: I LOVED this book! Summary: 5 StarsThis was the best book I have ever read in my entire life... even better than Harry Potter and the Tamora Pierce series (which used to be my favorites and are now my second favorites). This book was about a girl named Juniper-commonly known as Ninnoc. She is the only daughter of King Mark of Cornwall. She is very spoilt there being a princess. Then one day Juniper's godmother Euny decides to take Juniper for a year and a day to train her in magic so that Ninnoc/Juniper can aid her kingdom when it was in danger. But, this is not as hard as it seems... Euny is very poor and Ninnoc/Juniper is used to palace life... plus she is leaving all of her friends behind. After this she must come over other obsticles... like an evil sorceress and sorcerer working together to steal her fathers kingdom. This book was very suspernsfull. It was cool how all of the peices fit together in the end... from the beginning of the book. My favorite charachter was Juniper because she was so caring, understanding, kind, and witty. I also liked the way that Juniper handled many things in the book. There are many things in this book that happened that I would have done differently.... most of them hurtfully. I wish I could be more like Juniper. I HIGHLY reccomend this book to anyone. It is a mix of mystery, friendship, fantasy, and suspence. Even if you don't like those four things much chec=k out the book or buy it because it is REALLY good! (I reccomend that third gr and up read this book- not much sooner) From, A fellow reader
