Book Reviews of Without Remorse

Book Review: 3-1/2 stars for this book
Summary: 3 Stars

This was the fifth Clancy book I have read but my first in many years. Without giving much away it is mainly a story of revenge. In this book you get to see how some of the regular characters in other Clancy novels come to be. I thought the book was fine & if you are just starting out the book does pick up the pace once you get one or two hundred pages in. I didn't rate this book higher because I feel the story could have been done with less than 750 pages, that's two pretty good sized books. Also much of the book takes place in Vietnam & details some Navy Seal / SOG action. I have recently read the book "SOG" by John Plaster & I have to say the action in that book is hard to beat - & it was hard for me not to compare the two. Without Remorse does finish with a bang just for me it took a little long to get there.

Book Review: A Clancy Beginner
Summary: 5 Stars

I heard a friend talk about how thrilling and heart stopping Clancys novels were; so I thought why not give one a read. I thought to myself, if im going to read one of his novels, i might as well start at the begining. After some research, I found that Without Remorse was - chronologically - the first novel in the 'ryanverse' series.

If you too are wondering what all the hype is about this Clancy guy, read the first chapter of this book and your questions will be answered. From the first few pages I was hooked. I just couldnt put this book down.

This is the perfect book to begin you Clancy addiction, I finished this book 2hours ago and I already have Patriot Games - next chronologically - sitting infront of me.

This book has my vote, im sure it will yours!

Book Review: A Clancy best
Summary: 5 Stars

A personal favorite of mine, this is the story of John Clark the famous character in the Rainbow Six/Jack Ryan series. Clark I find to be a much more interesting character than Jack Ryan. Clark has a level of fury and depth that we dont see in Ryan. This is an emotionally intense novel of Betrayal, Revenge, Deception, and War. Basically everything that Clancy has defined over the past decade.

Book Review: A Different Clancy
Summary: 5 Stars

Yes, Clancy does write about different characters than Jack Ryan. This story was one I couldn't put down until I got to the end. Sat down with the book one Saturday morning and read it cover to cover. The hero is a little tougher than Ryan, and definitely not someone to fool with. But it's still the same old Clancy weaving his web.

Book Review: A Great Clancy Book
Summary: 5 Stars

I'll try to keep this to a minimum so you won't be here reading my review all day.

In my opinion, this is Clancy at his best! For those of you familiar with John Clark, this book tells the story of how a man named John Kelly would become John Clark. It is a story of his dark past leading up to and the beginning of his time in the CIA. 750 pages make it a long book but each and every page is well worth the time spent reading it.

Even if you're not a big Tom Clancy fan, you should read this book. You'll appreciate the excellent story line and the unfolding character development as you progress through the book. This story is a little easier to follow than some of Clancy's other stories in that he doesn't seem to jump around in this story as he does in some of his others. I'll admit that I'm a huge Tom Clancy fan so I might be a bit biased in my review but I suggest reading it for yourself and I think most of you will agree with me on this one. Great story Mr. Clancy!!!
