Summary: 4 Stars

The book 'Without Remorse' by Tom Clancy was an action pack thriller! Clancy has you sucked into this book with page after page of reading non stop. A former NAVY seal named John Kelly or Clark, had been exploding a old oil digger under water. On the way back he had herd the news that his wife had died in a brutal car accident. On his way to his cruser known as "Springer" he picks up a hich hiker. This character was Pam. Pam and kelly had headed back to the boat together and Pam had stayed a few days with Kelly and he has fallen in love with Pam. Later on Pam tells Kelly that she has been abused by her...friend Henry and her friends were also being abused. In Kelly's anger he and Pam went back to Baltamore to stop what was going on! This book also decribes Kelly going back to Vietnam to rescue 20 former prisoners at a scret prision. The book explanes the two stories and it is a must read book!!! You must own a copy of this book it will keep you on the edge of you seat and if you like killings and action all in one book then this is a book for you!

Book Review: Another Masterfully Told Story by the Name We Love.
Summary: 5 Stars

Clancy does it again with another wonderfully descriptive tale of politics, war, corruption, and a warrior's conscience. What I personally loved so much about this book is the fact that it does not follow the traditional Clancy setting. Tom's books are normally based around a largely-developing catastrophe that bounces around (although creatively) from one character to another. WITHOUT REMORSE is a tale of much smaller scale about one man's quest for revenge. Another beautiful addition to this book is how it begins. Most of Clancy's books don't become truly interesting to me until about the 150-250 page range. This book captured my imagination from the very first sentence and never let go. This book is the first in the Clancy John Clark/Jack Ryan storyline and I am now inspired to finish the series. Thank you Again Mr. Clancy, keep writing.

Book Review: Arguably Clancy's finest
Summary: 4 Stars

Casual Tom Clancy fans are aware that the hero of most of his books is Jack Ryan, a Georgetown educated historian turned CIA spook. This story takes place in an earlier time, circa 1969. Ryan only makes a cameo appearance as a Boston College undergrad.

The main character in "Without Remorse" is one John Terrance Kelly, aka Mr. Clark. Kelly is a Navy SEAL who has been on an incredible string of bad luck. He loses his pregnant wife in a car accident after returning from Vietnam. During his healing process, he meets a vulnerable young woman who is an drug addict that has escaped her drug lord employers. He helps rehabilitate her only to lose her to these drug lords and, in the process, almost loses his own life.

As avid Clancy fans know, Mr. Clark is not someone to cross. His solution is to hunt down the drug lords and eliminate them one by one, but his ambitions are further complicated by his recruitment into the CIA as a special consultant. He is asked to plan and coordinate a rescue mission to release American POW's in Vietnam. The books switches quite flawlessly from plot to plot, and shows Kelly struggling with his two identities: the brave SEAL trying to rescue his military brethren, the other the ruthless executioner ridding himself and his country of drug dealers.

The interesting thing about this book is how Clancy voices Kelly's conscience and feelings concerning the killing of these drug lords. Kelly doesn't feel a thing, which leads us to ask ourselves if Kelly is a sympathtic character. The answer to that question is, of course, yes. Kelly is a complicated man. He is quite bright, although he is not college educated. He is a loyal friend, but obviously a very bad enemy. He exhibits such tenderness towards the women in his life, and yet he thinks nothing of the elimination of people he has deemed unworthy of life. I found myself cheering for the man.

Of course, there is a violent, climatic ending, written in true Clancy style, which provides the missing pieces as to how Kelly officially became the Mr. Clark Clancy fans know from "Clear and Present Danger" and "The Sum of All Fears". I enjoyed this book. This is arguably the one occasion where Clancy put life into his characters. Often, his creations are too perfect, too educated (Ryan is a PhD, his wife is a MD, etc.). Kelly is a flawed man, but that adds to his appeal and makes this Clancy book the best of his canon.

Book Review: Awesome
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is great. It kept me wanting to turn the page after page. The beginning was alittle slow but that is in all books. It picked up the pace. Tom Clancy did a great job and whenever i think of this book I think of a movie. That's how good he was at describing everything. I still think I watched a movie and not read a book. Great Job here Mr. Clancy
