Book Review: A good book but...
Summary: 4 Stars
In wolves of the Calla Stephen King has returned to form as far as the "tower" series is concerned but the fact that he is feeling it more and more necessary to refer to his own work is a little troubling.(no spoilers but the self-referencing in this one is astoundingly overdone) Otherwise the simple western story of 'band of gunslingers arrive in small town with a problem, clean up the problem, the end' is only bearable because of the collapse of the normal rules of coincidence King makes reference to throughout the book. Still, as he states in the introduction, we will not have long to wait for the sixth and seventh (last) installments so we shall have to wait and see.
