Book Review: Far superior to The Perfect Storm
Summary: 5 Stars
Recommended to me by professional fishermen on Monhegan Island, Maine, this book captures the excitement, danger, and almost intolerable conditions in which people fish for crab. I couldn't put it down. It makes The Perfect Storm seem an exercise in journalistic opportunism to take advantage of the Navigation (Dava Sobel) phenomenon. This isn't a book about remote people and conditions researched by some journalist who's never been to sea. This is authentic and fantastic.
