Book Review: A Cute Witch Story
Summary: 4 Stars
I almost did not purchase this book because of the cover. I love humorous paranormal romance, but so much that I have bought recently has been short on humor and high on just plain silly. This book has some just plain silly, but it works here. The heroine is funny, a bit naive, but admirable all the way around. Both of the love interests (and usually I don't like the tangled triad approach) have their own charm. Bryn is handsome but not entirely trustworthy. Zach is a typical good ol' boy who just can't seem to give up on his ex-wife or on his high-handed control of her. Actually, the most interesting characters in the book aren't even human. We only get a quick glimpse of Aunt Edie, a ghost with an attitude, but Mercutio, the cat, steals the book in my opinion. He is mysterious, dangerous, and just downright cute.
I am giving this book four stars instead of five not because it doesn't deserve five overall, but because there are some minor problems with the plotting (a common problem for new writers), characters are a bit lacking in development, and some of the dialogue could have been better edited. However, this book is well worth the purchase price.
