I read this book over four days and was deeply moved by the open and honest account of the authors meetings with H.H. 17th Karmapa. Gaby Naher's account of his life and previous 16 lives is interwoven with the history of Tibet and especially the invasion and occupation of the Chinese. It is a touching book, made more so by the fact that the author is moved herself leading her to give personal details about her own life and the changes she feels inside herself as the investigations for the contents of the book bring her closer to Karmapa. As she had hoped, this comes across as a book about a great figure who will be a prominent leader during the 21st century.
