Book Reviews of YOU: The Owner's Manual, Updated and Expanded Edition: An Insider's Guide to the Body that Will Make You Healthier and YoungerBook Review: owners manual for your body Summary: 4 StarsGot this after seeing so many people reading it on the stair machine at the gym. A bit naive as to what is going on in popular culture (i.e. Oprah) so I wasn't aware of Dr. Oz or that this is actually a series of books.
I found the information very helpful. Complicated things are broken down into a much more simple way. It's definitely what I'd call light reading, but there is some good information here and it was said in a way which made it very easy to understand.
For somebody who is well aware of anatomy/physiology, you may find this boring or something you already know. For most people, you'll get some good tips out of it, some of which will keep you pain-free and active. To me, that makes the purchase of this book very worthwhile.
Book Review: Received order promptly Summary: 5 StarsI received my book as described and very quickly. Valuable information in this book. Love it!!!
Book Review: A Good Introduction to the human body but... Summary: 3 StarsOverall, I learned a good bit of information. But that information is buried in nonsense jokes and weak writing. I feel it was geared at folks who don't read as a hobby. If that was the case, then this book would probably meander along well enough to keep the attention of a non-reader. But I found the style a distraction and found myself wishing they'd drop the want-to-be-your-friend act and just get to the info.
The diagrams were cutesy and wouldn't help much if you were studying for an anatomy exam, but understandable enough to the average person. I did enjoy the paragraphs in the margins with interesting trivia and facts.
This book is a good start if you slept through high school biology (like me) and need a refresher in how the body works. But don't expect anymore then that.

Book Review: YOU The Owner's Manual Summary: 3 StarsVery informative, though written in a style catering to an unsophisticated reader. The authors come across as being rather patronizing.
