Book Review: A REASSURING STORY
Summary: 4 Stars
Two endearing bears, every bit as appealing as "Paddington," illustrate the bond between mother and child, while a day in their life together is recounted in simple rhyming text.Parent (who is not identified as mother or father) and child romp, play in a field, and explore until the end of day. Then it's dinner and bedtime with : "I am your dinner; You are my chocolate cake. I am your bedtime; You are my wide awake."
Ichikawa's sun washed full-color illustrations are charming, while the rhymes capture an activity to which every child can relate.

This is a book written as a poem. It is about the love between a parent and child. The subjects are a teddy bear parent and teddy bear child. They play together and express their love for one another. Satomi Ichikawa's pictures are reminisent of her Fickle Barbara book. A wonderful book to read at bedtime!
